2005 International Builder Showcase Home

2005, Baldwin Park, Florida

Architect Geoffrey Mouen has redefined the staple of American housing to reflect the current and future needs of a young, growing family. The two-story, three-bedroom home is a classic cottage featuring a 16-foot deep front porch, a symmetrical main level anchored by a huge kitchen-great room combination along the back, and a luxurious master suite and a pair of kids' suites all upstairs and away from the public realm. Among the home's most treasured design features are the master suite, the relaxing atmosphere of the front porch, the slight shift in symmetry in the home's entry and a design that enables a wider and more open back yard on a 120-foot-deep lot.The home also employs authentic exterior detailing with modern durable materials, such as fiber-cement siding.
